Biography

Dr. Hossein Zarei is currently a Lecturer in Business Strategy at School of Strategy and Leadership, Coventry Business School and an associate research member of the Centre for Business in Society (CBiS). He completed his PhDs under the scheme of European Doctorate in Industrial Management (EDIM) program at Politécnica de Madrid as home university and Politecnico di Milano as the host.

Hossein is interested in research and teaching in the wider areas of operations and supply chain management with a strong practical orientation. His main research interest lies within the intersection of “humanitarian logistics” and “sustainable supply chain management” where he has been conducting several “action research” projects with international humanitarian organizations since 2014. His other research interests include strategic agility of firms, applications of multiple-criteria decision making tools to social science problems, and quality management in the service sector.

Hossein’s research has appeared in several prestigious outlets such as International Journal of Operations & Production Management (ABS 4*) and has been widely cited by other scholars in the field of operations and supply chain management.

Hossein has nearly two years of industry experience as a management consultant and industrial engineer prior to starting his PhD. He was one of the six candidates in the world who received the prestigious European Joint Doctorate Fellowship for EDIM in 2014.
