Biography

Heather has 18 years of clinical experience as an occupational therapist, the majority of which was in mental health settings. In addition to working clinically, Heather has several years of experience of developing the role of placement coordinator within mental health services and this developed her interest and passion for teaching and learning within higher education institutes. She completed her MSc in Advancing Practice in 2012 and is now working towards her PhD which is exploring influences on approaches to facilitating problem-based learning.

Her key professional interests are around mental health, older people, leadership and learning theory.
