Biography
Dr Golnaz Taghavi Pourian Azar is a Research Fellow in the Centre for Manufacturing and Materials at Coventry University. She joined Coventry University in 2018 working on an EU Horizon 2020 project (MATUROLIFE) that brought together two different disciplines, materials science, and design, to produce high added-value assistive technology products. Golnaz is graduated with a PhD in Materials Science and Engineering from Istanbul Technical University (Turkey) in 2019, holding a bilateral scholarship from the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK) and The National Academy of Science of Ukraine (NASU). She obtained her BSc and MSc both in Materials Engineering in 2007 and 2011, respectively. Her main research interests and areas of expertise are in the fields of Surface and Coating Technologies mainly PVD coatings and Electroless Plating, Smart Textiles, Printed Electronics, Powder Metallurgy, Nanotechnology, and recently Electrolysers and Hydrogen Generation. As an early career researcher, Golnaz has published several peer-reviewed journal papers and presented at some of the most prestigious international conferences in one of which (TACT 2017) she was awarded two prizes (TACT 2017 Silver Award & Thin Film Society Special Award). She is currently supervising PhD students on different subjects such as the development of PVD antibacterial coatings, and electrocatalyst coatings for hydrogen generation.
