Biography
Dr Giedre Sabaliauskaite is an Associate Professor in Assured Autonomous Systems. She is part of Systems Security Group at the Centre for Future Transport and Cities at Coventry University.
She received PhD degree in Software Engineering from the Osaka University, Japan, in 2004, following her BSc and MSc degrees in Information Systems from the Kaunas University of Technology, Lithuania.
Before, she worked for over seven year at the iTrust Centre for Research in Cybersecurity at the Singapore University of Technology and Design. From 2016 to 2020 she was a principal investigator of the Autonomous Vehicle Security project. The goal of the project was to develop a method for systematic, model-based, integrated autonomous vehicle safety and cybersecurity analysis, which is consistent with international and national standards. Furthermore, she contributed to autonomous vehicle standard development in Singapore. She was part of a working group, which developed “Technical Reference for Autonomous vehicles – Part 3 : Cybersecurity principles and assessment” (TR 68 - 3 : 2019).
From 2008 to 2010 she was a post-doctoral researcher at the Lund University, Sweden. The focus of her research was on software process improvement, in particular, the alignment of software requirements and testing processes. Furthermore, she worked as a software quality engineer at a software development company in Portugal in 2007 – 2008, and as a scientist at the Fraunhofer Institute for Experimental Software Engineering in Germany in 2004 – 2005.
Research Interests
cybersecurity, harmonizing safety and security, autonomous systems, complex system design, process improvement, risk and responsibility management
Vision Statement
Giedre is interested in cross-disciplinary and emerging complex topics in relation to the organizations, the design and management of complex systems, the role of customers, and the strategies to deal with increasingly uncertain environments.
