Gail has a wealth of public service in the armed forces and as a hospital midwife, gaining a first-class BSc (Hons) Midwifery degree in 2009. A personal focus on mindfulness and compassion in recent years inspired the completion of an MSc Mindfulness and Compassion at Coventry University in 2019, and subsequent publication of a systematic review, evaluating the effectiveness of mindfulness and compassion on shame and psychological distress with potential issues of salience for adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse, in the journal Mindfulness in 2020.
Following the commencement of a PhD in 2020, Gails' current research aims to gain further understanding of the experiences of mindfulness among adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse.
