Dr Federico Topolansky is an Assistant Professor at Coventry University, a position he took up in October 2019. He has also served as docent of business strategy and marketing at the Royal Agricultural University, The University of the Republic in Uruguay and Shandong Agricultural University (China). Federico maintains close relations with ORT University (Uruguay) and University of Gloucestershire (UK).
Federico has a strong academic background in agriculture and business subjects. He holds a BSc (Honours) Agriculture (gaining a First Class Honours), a Postgraduate Diploma in Agroindustrial Management (graduating as a Top Student), a Master of Business Administration in International Agribusiness Management, a Master of Science in Environmental Studies (graduating with distinction), a Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education, and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD). For instance, during his last project, in South America, he was in charge of assessing and identifying those agriculture firms that could feasibly become prospective suppliers of the World Food Programme (United Nations).
Federico has also been involved in many consultancy projects related to agribusiness, competitiveness and the impact of regional agreements in the UK and overseas. Prior to working as an Assistant Professor, Federico worked as a consultant to numerous global companies and organisations, including the United Nations, the World Bank, Seylinco S.A., Roche Vitamins Brazil Ltda., and BASF. At the beginning of his career, while working as an Agronomist, he pioneered innovative business models (in South America) to help small farmers to increase profits.
He has researched extensively since 2005 and he has authored and co-authored a number of publications in peer-reviewed journals and The Farmers Club. He is a regular contributor at international conferences and seminars. Federico has a number of research interests that include: agribusiness, regional agreements, business strategy and international business.
