Biography

Prior to joining Coventry University, I was the director of the MBA programme at the University of East London from 2020 to 2021 and the BSc (Hons) Economics course director from 2016 to 2019. Before turning to academia, I worked as a Policy Analyst for over two years in the public sector (2006-2008) and was part of the leadership team in a Fortune 500 company for over four years (2009-2013).  I hold a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Economics, a master’s degree in Financial Management, and a doctorate degree in Political Economy. I am a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute, and an Affiliate of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment.

Research Interests

My research interests are in the areas of globalisation and economic development, the macroeconomic role of institutions, institutional change and structural transformation.
