Biography

I joined Coventry University in January 2017 and I am currently an Associate Professor within the Institute for Future Transport and Cities and Course Director for Manufacturing Engineering which is based within the Insitute of Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering. As an active researcher, to date,2 books, 10 book chapters, 31 journal papers, 34 conference papers/presentations in laser material processing, healthcare engineering and wettability/adhesion characteristics. On account of my wide ranging expertise, I am also a journal manuscript reviewer for 13 international journals and an external expert for the European Union COST Action Research Programme. I am involved in Research Council and industrial research, working over a number of different industries, and to date I have been involved in 18 research grants with a total combined value of £8,619,355.00. Furthermore, I have personally been the recipient of 8 awards with a total value of £2,575.00.

I am an active member of the Laser Engineering and Manufacturing Research Group, based within the Institute for Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering. Owed to my activity in the field of material science, I have been appointed to the position of Editor-in-Chief for The International Journal of Wettability Science and Technology (IJWST: http://www.oldcitypublishing.com/journals/ijwst-home/). I am also an Editorial Board Member for the International Journal of Laser Science and an Editorial Advisory Board Member for Reviews of Adhesion and Adhesives (RAA).
