David Jide Oyebisi is an enthusiastic professional based in Leicester City, United Kingdom, with a robust background in research, teaching, and industry experience. He has over eight years of teaching experience and a strong interest in data science, artificial intelligence, and the pedagogical approach in technology. David is currently pursuing a PhD in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence at Coventry University, having already completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice in Higher Education at the same institution. He has also undertaken specialized training in NoSQL databases through IBM (Coursera) and is a registered assessor with MICT SETA.
David's academic journey began with a National Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering from Yaba College of Technology, followed by a Bachelor's degree in Informatics from the University of South Africa. He furthered his studies at the University of Johannesburg, earning both a Bachelor of Commerce Honours and a Master of Commerce in Information Technology Management, where he focused on information security and conducted research on the behavior of outsourced employees as sources of information system security threats.
Professionally, David serves as a Lecturer in Information Technology Management at Coventry University's School of Computing, Mathematics, and Data Science. His roles include Academic Conduct Officer, module leader for various courses, and supervisor for undergraduate and master's research projects. Before joining Coventry University, he was a Digital Technologies Lecturer at Global Banking School in London and held similar positions at Varsity College and Rosebank College in South Africa.
David has published several research papers on topics such as information security and cyber-feminism and has presented at international conferences. He has also received multiple awards, including the Equity Champion Award from the Global Banking School and bursaries from the Department of Science and Technology, Republic of South Africa, and the University of Johannesburg.
David holds professional qualifications from CompTIA and Microsoft and is proficient in Python, NoSQL databases, big data analytics, and several programming languages and software tools. He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and a member of various professional bodies, including the Engineering Professors Council, the Institute of Information Technology Professionals South Africa, and the Institute of Business Advisors Southern Africa.
