    Biography

    Daren has worked with creative audio technology for over 25 years, from an apprenticeship as a sound engineer to a career in the music and film industries as a recording artist and sound designer

    He first gained a recording contract with leftfield dance music act Supercharger, releasing two critically-acclaimed albums and touring Europe and America supporting artists such as Bjork, Aphex twin and The Prodigy. His music has been used extensively by the BBC, ITV, Channel 4, SKY networks and by international broadcasters in America, Europe and the Far East. His most notable film compositions include contributions to the film 'Goal! The Dream Begins' (2005) as well as collaborating with David Arnold on the film '2 Fast 2 Furious' (2003). He continues to write and perform electro-acoustic work as a solo artist and collaborator

    He has lectured in music technology for over 10 years, at the pioneering Gateway School of Recording based at Kingston University and subsequently with City University London. He recently graduated with an Msc in Music Information Technology from City University under the stewardship of the then head, Professor Denis Smalley. Daren has been a senior Lecturer in Music Technology at Coventry University since 2009 and is engaged in research on musical feedback systems for his Phd
