Biography

 

At Coventry University Danny McGough lectures modules at undergraduate and post graduate; focusing on BIM, Performance Modelling, Architectural and Construction Technology.

One of the major aspects of his work is working as part of the team that is responsible for integrating BIM into the undergraduate and post graduate courses. In taking on this role he created new content and methods for delivering BIM into Coventry's curriculum.

Research includes:

  • Developing BIM and Low Impact performance applications, strategies and optimisation focusing on building refurbishment and management.
  • Developing innovative teachning methods using virtual reality, augmented reality and BIM
  • Disruptive Education - optimising padagogical design
  • The RESSEEPE project; REtrofitting Solutions and Services for the enhancement of Energy Efficiency in Public Edification (RESSEEPE) is an EU funded project that focuses on the refurbishment of existing public buildings in 3 European cities. Looking at low impact retrofitting interventions to achieve a 50% reduction in energy.
  • BIM in Practice Research and Consultancy; focuses on developing bespoke BIM implementation strategies, protocols and training.
  • BIM@SIM – The project is focused on developing a training platform which integrates BIM practice into a virtual simulation centre resulting in an innovative and unique training platform for industry and academia.

Vision Statement

The aim is to continue to develop strategies for the application of BIM as well as optimising our current practices on BIM and Low Impact performance of buildings in industry, research and academia.
