Research Interests

My research area is located at the intersection of interactive/immersive technologies and Critical Media Literacy. My PhD examined the implications of introducing interactive documentary in a series of Critical Media Literacy interventions with young people from disadvantaged backgrounds and proposed a “Pedagogy of Difference 2.0” for teaching and learning with interactive documentary. My current research explores the use of immersive technologies in media literacy, involving young people from disadvantaged backgrounds in the creation of Virtual Reality (VR) films.
