Charan joined the International Centre for Transformational Entrepreneurship (ICTE), Coventry University in January, 2019 as a Lecturer. Prior to this role, he was a University Teacher at Loughborough University London. He holds a PhD from Essex Business School, University of Essex in the field of social enterpreneurship. His research interests include entrepreneurship, social entrepreneurship, and dynamic capability, and he has published in a number of international journals including Journal of Business Research.

He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
