Biography
Carolyn is the Director of the Doctoral & Researcher College at Coventry University and a part time PhD candidate. Her particular research interests are around the value of doctoral study, the structures that support Graduate Education and the role of Deans and Directors of Graduate Schools. She is an experienced external reviewer for Graduate Schools and Doctoral Colleges as well Board Member and Trustee of the UK Council for Graduate Education, where she is currently Honorary Treasurer.

PhD Project
My doctoral research explores the motivations and perception of value of doctoral study among professional services leaders in UK Higher Education Institutions. My research involves a compartive study of professional services leaders across a variety of roles and institutions, to better understand their views on the perception of the value of the doctorate has to them within those roles, such as esteem, identity, skills acquisition and career trajectories.
