    PhD Project

As a PhD student, Behnam is working on a climate impact project in the southern Mediterranean region to understand the impacts of climate change on agricultural productivity and practices. The main focus of this project is to estimate potential changes in the probability of extreme agrometeorological risks, assess future crop productivity based on probable CO2 emission scenarios (CMIP6), and finally develop adaptation and mitigation strategies to reduce its negative impacts on crop productivity.

    Research Interests

My general research interest is the application of dynamic crop models and climate models to analyse how agriculture sectors respond to climate variability and change in vulnerable regions and which adaptation and mitigation strategies would be used to offset the negative impacts of climate change on agricultural productivity. In addition, I am interested to learn more about extreme events and their impact on the agriculture sector.
