PhD Project

Begum's research focuses on the stability of authoritarian and hybrid regimes. She explores the factors that contribute to stability, with a particular focus on how legitimacy plays a part. Her research takes a comparative approach with a focus on Turkey and post-Soviet states. She is supervised by Dr. Durukan Kuzu and Prof. Matt Qvortrup.

Biography

Begum is a PhD student in Politics at the Centre for Trust, Peace and Social Relations. She holds an MSc in Democracy and Comparative Politics from UCL and a BA in Political Science from California State Polytechnic University.
