Biography

Course Director for Media and Communications in the School for Media and Performing Arts at Coventry University and link tutor for our PSB course in Singapore, my work does focus on administrative and educational duties within the course and consulting with our franchises course in Singapore. In my teaching I am continuously engaged in piloting new approaches to assessment strategies, innovative learning environments and strengthening our student-educator interactions.
My research focuses predominantly on the political economy of transnational media and television, its audiences, trade, and content practices across cultural and political divides, (re-)considering notions of the National, the global and mediated identities and power structures.

I integrate digital media production and creative industry tasks (format concepts, pitch, and website creation, blogging, podcasting, social networking) into the class work, building on media studies’ oft central exploration of culture, context, and programming's content, and their relationship to industry.
