Research Interests

Doctor Arinola Adefila is a researcher at the Centre for Global Learning at Coventry University. Arinola has focused on the utility of education as a public good and a tool for transformational social development throughout her career. Her research is attentive to the transdisciplinary attributes of teaching and learning, exploring how pedagogy shapes learner experiences in and beyond educational spaces. Particularly capturing the dimensions through which education shapes societal ideas, political, sociocultural and economic constructs and norms, as well as, processes through which educational spaces and artefacts are in turn reshaped by society. She is working on developing Transdisciplinary Education Pedagogies and examining how to best use intercultural resources to develop education practices that are transnational and include multiple perspectives and epistemologies.

Arinola has worked on developing, managing and delivering high quality research projects around the student experience, including understanding student support systems and processes, improving attainment of vulnerable populations, developing relevant resources and transitions.
