    Personal profile

    Research Interests

My research and teaching interests lay in interdisciplinary area including environmental science and engineering, chemistry, geochemistry, material science, environmental management and circular economy. My research is largerly directed towards understanding holistically the fate of emerging pollutants (e.g., metals/metalloids, microplastics, pharmaceuticals, etc.) in natural-anthropogenic system and developing sustainable materials & technologies using concepts of industrial symbiosis and circular economy to tackle the environmental issues. Currently, I am working on understanding microplastics and chemical additives pollution in the environment, developing novel methods for microplastic analysis, and developing innovative, sustainable, and cost-effective technology to reduce plastics pollution. I have a wide-range of experience in instrumental analysis (Synchrotron XAS (XANES/EXAFS), CT-scan, and 2D/3D XRF; FTIR and Raman microscopy; SEM/EDS, TEM/STEM, EPMA, XRD, STA, ICP-OES/MS, IC, LC/MS, etc.) that helps to do research at an advanced level.
