I am an Assistant Professor of Accounting and Finance at the Centre for Resilient Business and Society (CRBS) at Coventry University. I hold a PhD in Accounting and Finance from the University of Glasgow, an MSc in Applied Accounting and Auditing, and a BSc in Accounting. I am also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).

I have previously held academic positions at the University of Glasgow and the University of Strathclyde. I have taught a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate modules in accounting and finance, including Corporate Financial Management, Financial Accounting, and Investment Analysis, and I supervise undergraduate, MSc, and doctoral research projects. Prior to entering academia, I worked as a financial accountant.

My research focuses on corporate finance, financial accounting, financial performance, financial regulations and sustainable accounting and finance. My work has been published in highly ranked international journals such as the British Accounting Review, the Economics Letters, and the Review of Quantitative Finance and Accounting, among others. It has also been supported by major funding bodies, including the British Academy, the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), Research England, the Committee for Departments of Accounting and Finance (CDAF), and the Ramón Areces Foundation.

My research has received significant media attention, with features in Columbia Law School’s Blue Sky Blog, the Duke Financial Economics Center’s FinReg Blog, Forbes, the Oxford Business Law Blog, The Conversation and Yahoo Finance, among others. In addition, my work has been featured on the programmes of leading national and international conferences, including the British Accounting and Finance Association (BAFA), the Financial Management Association (FMA), the Financial Management & Accounting Research Conference (FMARC), and the Illinois International Journal of Accounting Symposium (TIJA).

I serve as an ad hoc reviewer for several internationally recognised academic journals, including Abacus, the European Journal of Finance, and the International Review of Financial Analysis and as an Associate Editor for Cogent Economics & Finance.
