I am an Assistant Professor of Finance at the Centre for Financial and Corporate Integrity (CFCI) at Coventry University. I hold a PhD in Accounting and Finance from the University of Glasgow. I further hold an MSc in Applied Accounting and Auditing and a BSc in Accounting.

I am a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) and external examiner in several academic institutions. I further serve as an ad-hoc reviewer in international recognised academic journals.

I have previously held positions in the University of Glasgow and the University of Strathclyde. I have taught various courses in Accounting and Finance at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. In addition, I have worked as a financial accountant before transitioning to academia.

My main research interests lie in the areas of accounting and corporate finance. Specifically, I am interested in ESG and responsible finance, financial regulations, financial performance, insider trading, market-based accounting, and M&As.

My research has been published in highly ranked national and international journals such as the British Accounting Review and the Review of Quantitative Finance and Accounting. My work has been funded from several funding bodies such as the British Academy, the Economics and Social Research Council (ESRC), the Research England, the Committee for Departments of Accounting and Finance (CDAF) and the Ramón Areces Foundation.

My research has received media attention with features in the CLS Blue Sky Blog of Columbia Law School, the FinReg Blog of Duke Financial Economics Center and the Oxford Business Law Blog of the University of Oxford. Moreover, my work has been featured on the programs of national and international conferences such as the British Accounting and Finance Association (BAFA), the Financial Management Association (FMA), the Financial Management & Accounting Research Conference (FMARC) and the Illinois International Journal of Accounting Symposium (TIJA).
