Alexeis Garcia-Perez is currently a Reader in Cyber Security Management, doing research on Cyber Security, Knowledge and Information Risk Management, as well as Data Management to support decision kaking in business and society. 

From an original background in Computer Science Alexeis progressed to study management information systems. Having completed his PhD in Knowledge Management at Cranfield University, Alexeis has focused on the wider challenges of data, information and knowledge management in organisations and society. These include:

  • Cyber security and the challenges around data, including privacy and trust, from the perspective of the individual and society;
  • Big data and analytics and its applications as a driver of innovation, strategy development and new business models; and 
  • The multiple uses of personal data in the digital economy and its implications and challenges for business.

Alexeis has been successful in modelling experts’ knowledge for the analysis of data to inform decision making in different organisations, including Siemens Industrial Turbomachinery, General Electric Energies and the Ministry of Defence.

He maintains a solid collaboration with the School of Business Administration of the Technical University of Cartagena (Spain), and his recent collaborations with industry include projects with Network Rail, the Railway Industry and the Railway Safety and Standards Board.

Alexeis was the course director for the MBA in Cyber Security until December 2016 and now supports the course team from his current role in the Centre for Business in Society.

My research is inspired by the rapid evolution of information technologies and the need for us to remain able to maximise on their benefits for business and society.

Fingerprint Fingerprint is based on mining the text of the person's scientific documents to create an index of weighted terms, which defines the key subjects of each individual researcher.
