    Personal profile

Professor of Management Information Systems at the Centre for Business in Society, Coventry University (UK), and Visiting Research Scholar at the Department of Communication, Culture & Technology of Georgetown University (USA).

My research focuses on the relationships between people and technology, with particular emphasis on cyber security management and data-driven innovation.

My original background in Computer Science was complemented by a PhD in Information Systems and Knowledge Management from Cranfield University. This socio-technical understanding of information technologies and information systems has enabled a focus on the wider challenges of data, information and knowledge management in organisations and society.

I am a Senior Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy and member of the executive committee of the International Association for Knowledge Management (IAKM). I am also academic member of the Warwickshire Cyber Crime Task and Finish Group, member of the Advisory Board of the Future Aluminium Forum, and member of the Special Interest Group on Knowledge Management at the Association for Information Science and Technology (ASIST). I am co-editor of the Emerald book series Working Methods for Knowledge Management, and member of the editorial board of different international journals.

In addition to a leading role at the Research Centre for Business in Society, I have been the course director for different programmes including the MBA Cyber Security at Coventry University.
Currently, I support the enriching of teaching with my research, covering the  following: supervision of a large cohort of postgraduate researchers, student mentoring, development of a teaching case study on the subject of digital resilience in organisations and society, and the regular delivery of guest lectures on the subjects of cybersecurity management, privacy and data-driven innovation to undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
