    Description

Prof. Dr. Vero Benei, director of research at the Interdisciplinary Institute for Contemporary Anthropology in Paris, is coming to Coventry University on October 4th, to share her some of her work.

During the interactive lecture in the afternoon, (2.00-4.30), she will talk about her 2008 book Schooling Passions, which looks at the embodied and emotional components of nationalism in India. That is followed by an introduction of Movement Medicine, a contemporary shamanic dance practice, and its potentials of integrating this into academic work. Finally, she is keen to explore potential collaborations regarding an interdisciplinary project that bridges anthropology, experimental psychology, and Movement Medicine.

From 5.30-7.00 Vero Benei and Eline Kieft will co-lead a Movement Medicine session, so come prepared to dance and shake off the day! No previous dance experience necessary. Please bring dance shoes, or be prepared to dance bare foot.

Both sessions are free to attend, and take place at C-DaRe, Parkside, Coventry, CV1 2NE.

Everyone welcome, for parts or all of it (you can also join halfway through the afternoon, but please be there at 5.30 if you intend to join the dance session).

    No need to book.
