Description
Building on a long-standing collaboration with Professor Francesca Torlone, I spent one month as a Visiting Scholar at the University of Florence (Department of Education, Languages, Interculture, Literatures and Psychology – FORLILPSI).Key activities included:
• Co-developing the MSCA Doctoral Network proposal “Diversity in and beyond Doctoral Education for Democracy (3D)”, within a consortium of nine universities including Coventry University and Florence. This involved strengthening the conceptual framework, refining work packages, and drafting a joint paper to consolidate the partnership.
• Co-delivering three research-informed seminars:
+ BA students: Social Pedagogy in Asia and Europe
+ MA students: Learning in Extreme Situations
+ PhD students: Refining Research Proposals and Methodology: Ethics, Validity, and Practical Challenges
• Participating in activities of the UniWell (European University Alliance for Well-Being), hosted by Florence University in November 2025.
Engagement with UniWell supports my ongoing research on international university alliances, conducted with a PGR in collaboration with Deakin University, further strengthening international research cooperation and expanding the project’s European reach.
