The UK Government hosts the 3rd Regional Maritime Security Symposium in Bali, Indonesia. The week-long event will focus on the maritime threats and challenges faced by countries in Southeast Asia. Senior officials from Indonesia, Brunei, the Philippines, Malaysia and Vietnam have been invited to attend. Alongside these, key partners are also represented in attendance in an observer capacity such as US, Australia.

The Symposium aims to cover a range of maritime security topics over the course of the week. There will be three main themes; exploring UNCLOS/legal measures to settle current and future challenges in the maritime domain, cyber security as an emerging maritime threat and capacity building which covers illegal fishing, climate change, coastguard cooperation and hydrography.
