    Description

is the leading science festival in Italy and one of the biggest in Europe, accounting for about 200,000 visitors, 300 events and 350 speakers each year. The annual 11-day event, spread across the beautiful historical centre of Genova in about 50 different locations, represents a fixed point of reference for science dissemination where researchers, science enthusiasts, schools and families gather to explore and investigate science crossing over traditional subject boundaries, through exhibitions, interactive laboratories, meetings, workshops, shows and conferences ranging from mathematics, natural and human sciences.

The 2018 edition, entitled “Change”, is taking place from 25 October to 4 November 2018. Among others, the festival is hosting a one-day event dedicated to WhoLoDancE, namely the “WhoLoDancE Performative Workshop” (27 October, 18:00 – 19:30, Casa Paganini-InfoMus). The event aims at offering an «experiential journey» where to discover four different dance genres and participate directly in the various ways innovative digital technologies developed WhoLoDancE are integrated into new pedagogical processes for teaching, learning and creating dance movements. These include motion capture, algorithmic treatment of data, annotation of movement qualities, segmentation, similarity search, movement blending, virtual reality, movement sonification and sketching.
