Description

The School of Management (SoM) is committed to delivering management courses which prepare students for the challenges of working in a global, dynamic business environment. I was the Curriculum Coordinator for Business and Management (UG & PG), sourcing industry speakers, liaising with module leaders & curriculum lead, managing scheduling and logistics, as well as seeking support in advertising the event to our CU student community from student reps. Our curriculum covered topics like Leadership in the Digital Age, Strategic Planning, Innovation and Change Management, Business Strategy under Geopolitical Uncertainty, Sustainable Supply Chain etc.

As part of this strategy, we brought together industry practitioners, our alumni, professional body partners, and Coventry University employability teams for our annual Practitioner Insight Conference to:
• share their experiences and insights about working in different industry sectors and functions of management
• explore current issues affecting different sectors/businesses and how practitioners are managing them
• develop and enhance industry networks
• engage alumni to share their experience with current Coventry University students
• offer advice to current students on developing their professional profile
• share information about placement and graduate opportunities

For the outcomes of the conference, we managed to deliver 68 talks in a week with 420-student registrations in total, out of which 6 talks were delivered by our curriculum with 156 registrations. Students rated 4.33 out of 5 for overall satisfaction of PIC that endowed them with a realistic vision of the graduate market to be better prepared for their future career after the university.
