Porto - African Activisms Conference, 25-27 January 2023: During this conference Dr Northey presented two papers and chaired a panel around challenging shrinking civic spaces in Africa. This shared our findings around youth activism and mobilization in Algeria. The papers shared how youth are contributing to a more inclusive politics, economy and society through active citizenship and also through their environmental activism – alongside our Algerian partner Dr Adel Chiheb.
