The youth have a series of engagement sessions ahead of the Conference of Parties annual meeting. I gave a talk on what Just Energy Transition and what this means in the Kenyan context. Over 50 youth were in attendance during this session in Kajiado. Interesting discussions emerged on the elusive nature of justice in some of the projects intended to transition communities to sustainable and renewable energy sources. All in attendance agreed on a need to redefine the concept of justice and what it means to local and grassroot communities while also adhering to the principles of equity, sustainability and inclusion in the transition process.
