The keynote is described as: The Kinesthesia festival will be framed by keynote speakers Rosa Cisneros and Karen Wood in conversation. Karen is the author of Kinesthetic Empathy: Conditions for Viewing and Rosa is an artist and scholar.

The conversation between Rosa and Karen will be grounded in empathy – as artists and artist researchers who have similar interests in screendance. They will frame the conversation with the concept of kinesthetic empathy and how audiences experience pleasure and displeasure from their relationship with narrative, rhythm, emotional connection, space, environment and community. Their experience of making and researching screendance, immersive environments and exhibitions will contribute to the discussion and they will navigate corporeality, ethics and sense-making in the process.
