This seminar brings together scholars to examine the pressing critical issues shaping international higher education (IHE) in the eleven countries in Southeast Asia (SEA). Against the backdrop of rapid regional integration, shifting global power dynamics, and intensifying competition for talent, HE systems in the region face complex challenges and opportunities.

At the seminar, Dr Que Anh Dang - the convenor - also launched the Southeast Asian Higher Education Academic Research Thematic Network (SEA HEART). SEA HEART is a voluntary, collaborative network that brings together scholars and practitioners to exchange ideas, share the latest research, and advance knowledge on higher education in Southeast Asia.

The network provides an inclusive space for interdisciplinary dialogue, fostering connections across institutions, countries, and professional communities. Through seminars, workshops, and joint initiatives, SEA HEART aims to deepen understanding of the region's diverse higher education systems while strengthening international collaboration.
