Coverage of DAD practice and research is limited in the mainstream and specialist dance press in the UK. Set up in 2003, HOTFOOT aims to redress this balance by providing a unique forum for discussion and critical debate specifically focused on these dance forms. Through performance reviews, interviews, feature articles and thought pieces, HOTFOOT aims to increase understanding of DAD, raise the level of critical debate surrounding these forms, profile artists and develop writers for the sector. This edition of HOTFOOT Online provides a snapshot of discussions, discussants and happenings in the dance of the African Diaspora sector. Our main focus is on giving an overview of the initiatives that have evolved or have been brought to light as a result of the Re:generations international conference. We pinpoint where thinking in the sector is going, and who is starting to do what and where. We hope the stories will lead you to contact people, keep conversations going, research ideas and plan your own projects.
