Activity: MembershipMembership of committee

Description

9 October 2019 Natasha Taylor Coventry University Dear Dr Taylor, INVITATION TO BE SCIENTIFIC COMMITTEE MEMBER On behalf of the organising committee of the inaugural Games for Research, Innovation & Commercialisation in Healthcare (RICH Games 2020), I cordially invite you to join us as a member of our Scientific Programme Committee. The growing trend of digitalisation has resulted in technological breakthroughs in the patient care equation and transformational changes across the global health industry. It is clear that the future of the industry will be collaborative and digital platform-based. As rapidly evolving technological applications, games and simulations are already widely integrated in the traditional educational process. They are also increasingly being deployed in the field of healthcare training and assessment, showing their potential of becoming powerful instructional tools. To address these shared scientific challenges and harness innovations found in serious games, simulations and gamification techniques, it is imperative that all stakeholders across the healthcare value chain collaborate through partnerships and licensing deals to bring these solutions to market more quickly. It is with this objective that the inaugural Games for Research, Innovation and Commercialisation in Healthcare (RICH Games) was conceived, to provide a collaboration platform to explore blue skies research, showcase innovative solutions and provoke discussion on the adoption and commercialization of healthcare innovations. About the Conference This conference, jointly organised by the Serious Games Association (Singapore) and SingHealth Duke-NUS Institute of Medical Simulations (SIMS), will be held from 4th – 7th November 2020 at the Academia, SGH campus, Singapore. The programme consists of a two-day pre-conference workshops followed by a two-day conference with exhibition. Themed "Partnerships through Play", aims to bring together game developers, healthcare professionals, clinician-scientists, academia, health tech specialists, innovation leaders, startups, entrepreneurs, government agencies, regulators, and investors for thought leadership, productive discussions, shared learning and networking. Scientific Programme Committee The Scientific Programme Committee members will work closely 1. to ensure a rigorous process to publish any scientific material or presentations under the auspices of the RICH Conference 2020 with an appropriate level of scientific merit. 2. to support the organisers in designing a programme which is original, has excellent scientific credential and has the right mix of original research and evidence based instructional practice. Within the Scientific Programme Committee, we hope that you could be assume the role of a Track Co-Chair. As a Track Co-Chair, your role will be to: • assist in promoting the Call for Abstracts to your community and contacts • recommend reviewers and also review submissions received for your track • co-chair the track session during the conference. As submissions and reviews are done online, we expect the scientific programme committee to meet only once every two months (or when necessary), with the first meeting tentatively planned for end October 2019. The bulk of the review will take place between June to July 2020, and programme scheduling in September 2020. We believe your expertise and knowledge will help chart the scientific direction for the conference and look forward to receiving your positive response to the invitation. Please reply to this email by 28 Oct 2019 to let us know your decision. Thank you.
