From internationalisation to an inclusive and decolonized curriculum: trajectories from Holland and England

    Activity: Talk or presentationInvited talk

    Description

In this keynote we will first describe the very different starting points for internationalisation in our countries. Not only do we have different languages of instruction, we also have opposite practices on recruitment of international students. Yet, through quite different trajectories we found each other in our research and practice to ensure internationalisation is inclusive by ‘deconstructing’ internationalisation and interculturalisation in our home curricula, and including, on line collaboration, global and local citizenship, and decentering-western perspectives. These reframed perspectives led us to an emerging focus and exploration of decolonisation of our curricula. The project that we are embarking on provides us all with an opportunity to intensify that exploration.
