    Description

Birmingham offers opportunities to engage with clinical research from the earliest
stages of medical and dental training. Birmingham Academic Medicine Society
facilitates conferences and academic skills training for local students, engaging with
our regional counterparts. We also offer a range of undergraduate bursaries including
for intercalation and conference attendance. All of these schemes are kindly
supported by The Sir Arthur Thomson Trust.
Our NIHR Clinical Academic Training programme is one of the largest in England, with
trainees in specialties ranging from Immunology to Psychiatry and Geriatric Medicine.
This funding supports both pre-doctoral Academic Clinical Fellow (ACF) posts and
postdoctoral Academic Clinical Lecturer (ACL) positions. We are also fortunate to
benefit from locally funded ACF and ACL posts.
We are delighted to welcome healthcare professional researchers including
NMAHHPs and Doctoral Fellows to today’s event.
We work closely with University Hospitals Birmingham who support clinical academic
training schemes for nurses, AHPs and other clinical staff. For further information
    please contact [email protected]
We also provide opportunities via Birmingham Health Partners (BHP), including the
pre-doctoral 1 year Starter Fellowship and postdoctoral posts and awards (CARP and
New Consultant awards and BHP Clinician Scientist scheme).
Visit the ECR Hub as well as the Fellowship Academy for further details of support we
    offer to early career researchers.
