Description
The need for citizen voice in policy feedback operations is increasingly recognised amongst policymakers. As the climate crisis becomes more urgent, young people are often excluded from conversations about energy policy that will affect their future way of living. This talk presents a novel methodological approach to evaluating young peoples' involvement in policymaking feedback processes, based on the discoveries made during a practice-based case study. Making reference to previous working models of 'Evaluative Performance', I approach the creation of a headphone verbatim theatre performance, and reflect upon its actuation as an exercise in valuing young peoples responses to new innovations in Smart Local Energy Systems. This article contributes to the ongoing discussion around the need for new and innovative ways of capturing citizen experience, and young people in particular, outside of more 'traditional' research approaches.Period | 2 Sept 2024 |
